I bought a cheap, broken ThinkPad 365XD and I'm trying to get it working.
Any help will be appreciated. Most of the machine works, but not all.
The current issue: The hard drive shipped with the machine is not
recignized. Easy-Setup shows it as missing in the test section, so it will
not even perform a test on the drive. (Booting from floppy works great,
but drive C does not exist.)
I have tried to use a Toshiba 1926FCV taken from my TP750P, but depending
on how I have a jumper set, it either makes the machine lock up during
boot, or also does not appear. The drive works fine in the 750P after this
test. I have a Toshiba 2.1GB drive on the way. I have tried to get
Toshiba's fax for jumper settings on this item, but their catalog appears
screwy, so the document (2004) they say to use is of no help.
Does anyone have this or a similar drive running in this or a similar
ThinkPad? If so, do you have a jumper installed on the drive, and where?
