All I can say is WOW!
IBM is to be congratulated on producing the best ThinkPad that they have
ever produced. This is a five star ThinkPad.

To those of you who have been discussing resolution and fonts, I feel
that that is all for naught.

What must be used in selecting a screen, is the ppi that the screen
produces. Pixels per inch.
The majority of screens and monitors are only capable of 72 ppi. Taking
this into consideration, Microsoft sets up their program sizes, icon
sizes, for the best viewing in their consideration based on 72 ppi. So
if you need to fiddle around a bit with your sizes and your icon sizes,
it is because you have a leading edge screen.

DVD runs splendidly. IBM ViaVoice 98 Executive voice dictation program
runs superbly.
It is a pleasure to view photographs. For map viewing and CAD CAM it
should be outstanding.

If you wish to view the output when attached to a television set, you
will need to purchase the DVD and enhanced video adapter.

There are changes from the 770-1 A U ThinkPad, so be sure to read the
manual.

The ultrabay is a wee bit larger. How do I know? The ZIP drive fits in
without coaxing .

In regard to the DVD region code.
>From my understanding, you can select any of the six regions.
You'll must select a region to play DVD content. After you have
selected a region, you can't play content only from that region. An
incorrect region code setting causes your computer to hang; you can
recover your computer only with the recovery CD.

In other words. If the first DVD you play is from a region other the
then the region you selected, your system will no longer play DVD
content. Recover your system using the recovery CD.
So I guess if you need to play from two regions you will need two hard
disk drives.
You can set the region code when you start DVD Express for the first
time.
