Exactly the same problem with my TP600. I bought the ANC-600 headset,
thinking the problem was the cheap headset I got at the 'puter store. It
came with the magic adapter for the thinkpad. Fixed the above problem...
However, 3 months later I now have to jiggle all the connections on the
headset to get a voice signal. This stuff is designed cheaply.
