The Bios Ver 1.4X was designed for Win 95 . Some changes were made in the
Plug and play protocol among other things.
So yes, you want Bios ver 1.4x.
I have spare, one internal DC/DC power supply for a 360x.
$45 US ??...plus transpo
This should fix the battery problem .
The backup power is a bunch of Nicad Cells soldered together underneath the
floppy bay and usually under a piece of plastic.
One screw removes the plastic and lets you remove the battery.
IBM was no unreasonable on the price of this thing ...$7.50 ???
But first measure the voltage. I'm away from my bible at the moment but look for
the tpvol2.pdf wich is the HMMM (hardware maintenace manual )
It's best found on IBM FTP site .
ftp://ftp.pc.ibm.com/pub/pccbbs/mobiles/tpvol2.pdf
I believe it was 3 cells so that should be 3.6 volt (ish).

How do you know that your regular battery is good?
And how are you charging it if your TP360's DC/DC converter is brocken ?

In regards to you error messages you are doing something wrong (grin).
The standard IBM Bios upgrade creates a BOOTable floppy . It cares not about your
system software. Download it again ?
Good luck.

..peter..

No they are not. See above
