Teresa,
In case it helps -- "plastic" is not an absolute exclusion in my
experience.
When I sent my TP701C in for service to repair the sticky keyboard, they
also "repaired" (= replaced) the port replicator on which the hook that
secures it in place had broken its "tongue".
In this case one could have argued "defective design" but I did not have
to.
They also replaced a cover over the PCCard housing that I had broken in
trying to find out how to remove it <g>
You could try defective design for your broken plastic?
I don't know the status of EZ-Serve but it is a strange coincidence that
Toshiba (wash my mouth out) uses a company in Memphis TN for its warranty
repairs <g> They did mention the name (but I can't remember it) when I was
exploring the International warranty position for a friend about to buy a
laptop for part time use in the USVI where he keeps his boat.
