damage is one thing, but some vendors have an agreement with most
manufacturers that the mfg. will replace a doa machine..
i have received about 60 or 70 thinkpads over 4 or so years and only had
one doa, and it was not doa, it had way too many bad pixels..

and i suppose i should have said:
"here, i must comment..NO reseller will take a return on a working opened

box thinkpad.."

ALSO, since i get some new thinkpads from direct vendors and some from my
distributor, they will all do more to keep me a happy customer, and thus
would be likely to take back a product.. but open box means trouble
unless it is a DOA..
