This is starting to sound a little like a problem I had awhile back, and flashing the most
current bios seemed to fix the problems, but afterwards I wondered if just doing the
initialize function in the ROM SETUP would have fixed the problem. If it happened to
me again I would try that first because it would be easier.

You would also want to be sure that the jumper on the drive is set for cable-select and
not a secondary or slave drive.
