Hiya...
Happy new year to all on the list.
I have an old 750CS which I received without a HDD. I have acquired a
Toshiba 340Mb drive for it along with the connection cable.
I am having a reliability problem when trying to access the drive. I have
checked the flexicable and it is ok, and the HDD has been checked on another
machine, and is also ok. When using PCcheck diagnostics, it reports the
correct drive parameters but says that the BIOS setup has been locked and
does not see the drive. I have no passwords on the machine, but the HDD
password option in the setup program is always greyed out.
Does anyone know anything about this problem? Can anyone help? My next
option that I can see is to strip the machine down and check it all for dry
joints - quite probable on a machine of this age, but before I do that I
would like to know if there is something stupid that I am doing.
Thanks in advance...
