Selectabase 770 is maybe 2 inches at the back, but it angles down at the
front to bring the underside front of the 770 right to the desk surface.
The overall angle is probably comparable to the angle achieved using the two
feet at the back of the 770.
Selectabase 770 has separate ports for both a mouse and a keyboard.

I'm thinking of getting the Selectabase 770 for my 770ED, mainly so
that I don't have to constantly plug in and unplug external devices.
Does the Selectabase add height to the keyboard level? IBM lists the
height of the Selectabase 770 as two inches. Does that mean that the
770ED somehow sits on top of the Selectabase, thus raising the
keyboard up two inches? I'm concerned about the effect this might
have on typing comfort. Or do most people use a separate keyboard
when the 770ED is connected to the Selectabase?
And regarding the use of a separate keyboard, am I correct that, with
the 770ED connected to the Selectabase, both a separate keyboard and a
mouse can be simultaneously connected to the Selectabase without using
the Y-cable (keyboard-mouse connector cable) that would be required if
both a keyboard and a mouse were connected directly to the 770ED?
I would also like to synchronize files, by cable, between my 770ED and
a desktop computer that will be located on the same desk as the 770ED.
Concerning the software that I would use for this purpose, are there
significant advantages (in terms of ease of setup, ease of use, and
general capabilities) in using Laplink for this purpose, or could I
save money and achieve largely the same functionality by using Direct
Cable Connection?
