Every store in London will have US 2-prong to UK x-prong adapter for $5-10.
They stock them for the tourists. They will work with most appliances
that have the 110v-220v switch (shaver, blowdryer), or is autosensing like
a Toshiba laptop or a late-model thinkpad brick.
The computer stores will sell you a kit of 50 different phone adapters so
you can plug in your laptop modem. I couldn't find just a US-UK converter
as a separate component. You have to have the converter plug.
My suggestion - look up this stuff on the net and purchase it before you
go. If you aren't in a major city in the UK, you'll have to shop to find
what you need. If you're in London, etc. they will charge retail.
Cheers.
