I need to install Win95 on my ThinkPad 600 which has Warp4 with fixpack 9 on
it, and I don't know how to proceed.
Thus far I have used fdisk and Partition Magic to set-up the hard drive as
follows:
startable Primary Boot Manager
bootable C: Primary empty fat 500mb
D: Logical empty fat 500mb
E: Logical empty fat 500mb
bootable F: Logical Maintenance/BootOS2 hpfs 30mb
bootable G: Logical WARP4 hpfs 500mb
H: Logical WARP Applications hpfs 500mb
I: Logical WARP Utilities + hpfs 100mb
Free Space hpfs ~1.37gb
and J: CD ROM
I have the WIN95 "For Distribution Only with a New Computer" CD
that I received some years ago with a Compaq Pentium 90. I have never used
it and I no longer have the documentation that accompanied it.
I have been an *OS2 Only* User for years. So, I don't have DOS or Windows
installed on either of my computers or on diskettes.
IIRC WIN 9* needs to be installed from a Windows or DOS environment.
How can I install WIN 95 using my present set-up?
- Can I install it by running set-up from a Dos Full Screen session? (Sounds
dangerous!)
- Can I create the necessary DOS boot disks from within OS2?
I have to/need to get this installation done asap for a new project, and to
facilitate communications with my clients.
I welcome any help.
THANKS!!
Ron
