I have two questions about 701 hard drives, which are of the
slim or 12 mm or 12.5 mm variety.
1. If I put a 6.4 GM IBM Travelstar 12 mm drive in my thinkpad,
will I need a BIOS upgrade? I know that they require a special
"caddy", and a TORX screwdriver, but fortunately I have both.
2. I would also like to get a 2.5" - to - IDE adaptor so that I
can, say, backup my 701 drive on a desktop machine. Can I just
buy one of the standard adaptors, or will I need something
special? Will it mean I have to take the drive out of its
caddy?
