Faulty pixels, unfortunately, are considered "normal" by most manufacturers
as long as the number is below a certain (often mysterious) number AND the
dead pixels are not grouped in the "main" viewing area (whatever that is).

I have been very fortunate.... my Thinkpad 701c has a perfect screen, my
Winbook XL has only one bad pixel (in the viewing area) which only shows up
when against a blue field, and my Dell Inspiron 7000 (15" screen) has a
pixel stuck on red at the very bottom of the screen.... it isn't noticeable
unless I look for it.

Don't know if this helps, but unless the machine is brand new and within a
30 day trial period, you are probably out of luck. On a brighter note.....
there is a chance that the pixel will fix itself. I had a second bad pixel
on the Winbook that did this.

For what it's worth........
