Further to my note about cablemodems and networks, here's an email I
sent to a bunch of my friends a while back. I have no connection with
the product referenced, except that I own a copy! And I heartily
recommend it.

If you move from network to network (or even from network to
non-network), here's a utility that simplifies changing your IP
address, DNS values, Identification, proxy settings in NS/IE, and even
your default printer!

I've tried it round-trip between a current client and my network at
home, and so far it's worked really well! For U$9, it's a bargain as
far as I'm concerned.

Check it out at www.netswitcher.com . 15-day free trial, nags after
that but doesn't disable. Windows 95/98/NT only.
