It's pretty normal to have a few dead pixels. In the days when they didn't
allow any dead pixels the cost of a TFT screen was about 4 times what it is
now. They've reduced the price by allowing an "acceptable" number of dead
pixels. Most companies won't do anything about it if you have fewer than
the limit unless theyre really close together.

On the other hand, pixels go dead during the manufacturing process. It's
very rare for one to die later. I would call IBM and ask about that. It
might indicate a real problem.
