Figure about 10% to 30% speed increase..
the 701 is a classic machine and will only maintain its value and perhaps
increase as the available stock is diminished through death and accident..

sure, the 560 is a good bargain now and there are really great thinkpads at
really low prices, but the 701 is the only notebook computer on display in the
museaum of modern art in NYC...

i had a 486-50 machine upgraded and it IS faster...

it all comes down to the depth of your particular wallet vs. the altitude of your
appreciation for a unique bit of history.. :-)
