For those using SoftDVD...
The latest Video features drivers (Trident Cyber 9397) from February 15 will knock out the DVD player. I spend most of saturday trying to figure this out. Tech support was no help..
If you try to use the SoftDVD player and have the latest video drivers installed then you will need to revert to the last set.

What really gets me is that after I spent most of my Saturday finding the culprit I figured I would call IBM back and inform them what the problem was so that the next time they get a call on it they could save the end user some time. In return I got the impression that they didn't care nor probably didn't even log it... Pretty disappointing to see such incompetance at IBM... This is not the first time that they have released drivers for the wrong system...

OK, let me get off the soapbox here.. On another note does anyone know of other DVD software that can take advantage of the hardware decoder? I have tried the software only versions and picture and audio were not in sync and the overall picture was shaky. SoftDVD is pretty ancient and lousy in comparison,

If there was enough demand I may just have my Developers write a program that would be nore specific to the Trident chipset and Decoder.?
