I had to install the upgrade because I had recently reformatted my harddrive to eliminate a series of Win98-related errors and a video-related error. My TP600's modem shipped as a Kflex 56k without a v.90 driver. After reformatting and installing a standalone copy of Win98, the upgrade was necessary to add the v.90 protocol. Otherwise, I could never connect with my ISP at anything above 33.6. Now, with the v.90 upgrade installed, I can't even get above 28.8. Arghh!

Kevin,
If you were getting connections of 51-53K why did you even apply an upgrade?
Go back to the previous version if it worked well for you.

Subject: Slower Modem Connects After Upgrade

After downloading and installing the latest and greatest v.90 upgrade for my
TP600's internal 56k modem, my internet connection speeds have dropped from
about 51-53k to 26-28k. It seems that I recently read a post from someone
else who had this experience. Does anyone know of a fix to the fix? Thanks
in advance.
