I purchased a i1721 2 months ago because it used current technology (300 MHz PII, Win98, V.90, DVD) and other features I wanted at a reasonable price (for a TP) . The i Series seems to be priced to capture a piece of the $1400-2700 market while still delivering the quality, performance and service TP owners expect. So, how come there is so little discussion about the i Series here? I think I have heard from only one other person in this list that has one. By comparison, we cannot get our hands on a 770Z yet, but it has already generated much discussion. As a newcomer to TP's, I've noticed that certain models are revered with almost cult status, but the i Series is probably destined for oblivion. Can anyone explain this? Also, can anyone technically compare the i Series to other TP models? For one thing, I read it is the only TP built by IBM. It also is thicker and heavier that other models.
Thanks,
Chuck
