Not on messages received here. I try to reply to every unsubscribe
request I see on the list. But I agree with you, having
unsubscribe information would be very helpful. (Although at least
one other list that does it, _still_ gets regular requests,
complete with the header!).

Since three people posted for the information just now, here's what
I forward:

Please note the following method for unsubscribing. I think
subscribing probably works the same way. The request goes
to a different address.

==================BEGIN FORWARDED MESSAGE==================

New Year Greetings, Ladies and Gents!

Looks like it's time for another gentle reminder. I may start
posting this monthly. Well, maybe quarterly...

If you don't want to receive this list anymore, send a message to

        thinkpad-request_at_cs.utk.edu

with "unsubscribe" in either the body or the subject (or both, I
don't care as long as you say it somewhere.) If your address has
changed, I need the address you used when you subscribed to the
list. Otherwise, you'll keep getting messages...

If you're subscribed to the digest, it's really, really, really
helpful if you'd say "unsubscribe digest." Not necessary, but
helpful.

I don't read the list; I'm the postmaster here and just run the
scripts to manipulate the mail list for you, so sending to the
list won't get you what you want unless someone gets tired of
seeing your posts to the list and forwards it to thinkpad-request.
Unfortunately, that could get the forwarder unsubscribed if I
don't monitor the scripts while they run. So please, for
everyone's sanity (not least mine), send your requests to the
thinkpad-request address.

Thank you for your time and attention,

Judi
