For what its worth--and I know both of you are fellow 701 club members
<Grin!> as I myself was--I made the leap of faith and got a 600 after my
560 bit the dust.
At first I thought I'd regret it, but almost immediately after opening the
box, I was very surprised. I'm very happy with the machine, despite that
its a bit larger than the 560 (almost unnoticably so, until you put them
next to each other). And like you, I don't often use CD's, but when I
do--I *need* it. If you too make the leap from 560 to 600, I don't think
you'll regret it. Unless you have *no* need whatsoever for CD's (perhaps
just for installing software or only at your homebase where its easily
attached), I believe the 600 is the better choice.
