One more vote to forget this cheap ThinkPad deal...

If they had been silly enough to send the units out at that price, I would
have been happy to accept one. It's another thing altogether to gang up on
anyone and threaten (however veiled the threat) to use legal force, to cause
them to harm themselves.

This is central to one of the hard truths of the American Dream. If someone
knowingly offers a good deal as a loss leader, it is fine to take advantage
of that deal. It is, however, inappropriate to prey on another person's
weakness.

Interesting morality issue here. Sort of like the idea that it is OK to
submit false claims to an insurance company, because they are a faceless
corporation and can afford it.

Jerry, your email was close to incitement to defraud. You would be well
advised to back off.

Consider yourself ganged-up-on!
