The IBM direct sales web site has a few dealers, but I know next to
nothing about any of them, as I'm based in the UK. Buying from the
States does however make a great deal of sense: even with import
duties it's cheaper than a UK dealer, and my guess is that stocks are
more likely to materialise before the heat death of the universe.

Anyway, here are IBM's dealers:

    1 26441AU ThinkPad 570

    CDW $3,127.56
    MicroWarehouse $3,099.00
    CompUSA Net.com $3,019.95
    CompuCom / PC Save *call*
    Inacom *call*
    Time Trend $3,098.52

There's sod all in it as far as price goes (surprise!), so I thought
I'd ask how well you'd got on with these dealerships -- both good and
bad experiences. I'll anonymise & summarise to the list if you'd
rather email me privately. Oh yeah, if you know of some great top
secret little shop that isn't one of these, please let me know!
