normally, charging will stop at 95% if you put a battery with 95% or above in
the machine..
if the charge level is below 95% it should charge up to 100% and shut off..
thereafter charging should not resume until the charge level drops below, you
guessed it, 95%.. :-)

IF the battery is old (over a year or so), then it could be kaput..!
otherwise, the only other thing is could be is dirty contacts or the like...

you can try to "cycle" it.. total discharge, then recharge.. but i don't think
this will work with Li batteries like it does with NiCad...

the only other possibility is a bad charge circuit..
which, if my memory is correct, is located just inside the case where the AC
adapter plugs in and i think its a small board that can be replaced.. not
easily, but quite possible, if you have no remaining warranty..
