Keep in mind a couple of things here:
1) Reviews are simply entertainment. They have to be new and different every
time in order to maintain readership, advertisers, and the ability to do
reviews.
2) IBM is consistent in using current-generation technology that is known and
reliable instead of pushing the envelope.
You may find that number 2 is not in keeping with what you want in a machine. In
that case, you should look at the other offerings. For me, I have used Thinkpads
since 1991 or 1992, have owned over a dozen, and swear by their performance and
reliability. YMMV.
