Thanks so far to those who have given me feedback on the Trackpoint IV external keyboard.
I'm disappointed to hear that although scrolling is available, it has to be by holding a key like "Ctrl", which then interferes with Ctrl-clicking, which is a terrible thing.
I still want to know how the keyboard ultimately behaves, and if maybe there's another, less important, key that can be used for scrolling. If not, I might have to scrap the idea and get a (shudder) Microsoft scrolling mouse. (I've heard mixed things about the Trackpoint (or is it Scrollpoint?) external mouse - anyone have comments on this?)
Reminder: I'm NOT going to hook this up to a Thinkpad. It's for a crappy Compaq laptop.
Can anyone suggest a way to physically try this keyboard? Or does one have to order and pray?
