Greetings one and all--
I want to thank all who responded. The answers were exactly what I was
looking for and I decided to only install Norton's Utility --already had
NAV. Nothing will be resident.

But I thought I'd point out that when optimizing the system, especially
the Swap file ( I'm not talking of NU defragmenting the file - which is
good) it increased it way beyond the Windows own recommendation of
creating this file in Virtual Memory management under the guise of
speeding up the system and file access. It moved the file to C:\ and
added 60MG. Creating a 100MG swap file. There was no increase in
performance and my systems with 40MG works well and is stable and fast.
It did this by adding two line in the SYSTEM.INI under the 386enh
section:

;MinPagingFileSize=81228
;PagingDrive=C:

Which you will noticed I remarked out and tested the system. Everything
worked fine.

If you're going to look into this for yourselves please note that
Windows will create a new Swap file in the Windows directory/folder.
You then have to remove the other larger swap file from C:\. Once the
instruction is no longer in SYS.INI by default W-95/98 will look for the
file in the WINDOWS:\ folder.

A special thanks to John560e who's always ready to helpwith solid
information.

Thanks,

Simon Bryquer
