Robert,
I must say, I'm glad you spoke up on this. I wouldn't trade my Portercase
for the world, but that's only because I have to carry both a laptop *and*
a data projector, not to mention various other boxes of product and/or
luggage, so it serves as my all-in-one luggage carrier.
But if I were to consider a briefcase only for my laptop, there's no
question I'd go straight for the Brenthaven (which I had never heard of
until today, thanks to you). I share your taste for high-quality items,
and this one certainly fits the bill (and runs *up* the bill! :-). I
bought my Port laptop briefcase (not to be confused with my Portercase) 5
years ago with my first Thinkpad and while it is very nice, from what I see
on the website & reviews, I believe the Brenthaven really does have it
beat. If I were to start over, that's what I'd go get.

I'm going from memory, but from what I recall off of one of the reviews I
just saw on a website a few minutes ago, the Tumi was a pound or two
heavier (the Brenthaven a bit over 3 lbs.--lightest of the batch).
