We created a custom bootable CD-ROM that meets the "El Torito" specification
for bootable CD's....
On all of our Thinkpad 600 / 770 machines, they won't boot! We have
configured the BIOS so that boot order is A: , CD-ROM, then C: hard disk
partition, but when we put our disc in it won't boot from it.
The disc has a MS-DOS 6.22 OS created from a 525MB Hard Drive Image.
1: We are able to boot the same disc on all of our Hewlett Packard and
Compaq desktop computers (we have no IBM desktop computers for testing).
2: The same IBM ThinkPads will boot a Microsoft Windows NT 4.0
Workstation CD-ROM... I presume they also boot a Windows 98 CD-ROM, but I
have not tried it.
We have the latest available BIOS, I believe 12/16/98 is the date.
Anyone have information to share on this subject?
