Hello,

The 1460 is PC Card (PCMCIA) Card while the 1480 is a 32 bit Cardbus card.
You can get a SCSI-2 cable for the 1460 (I have both SCSI-1 and SCSI-2
Cables).

I would think either would work for the Plextor although if I had a later
Thinkpad
that supports Cardbus and no SCSI card I would go for the 1480 just to have
the
best performance.

        By the way, which Adaptec Card are you using (1460 or 1480) ?
        And what would be the point of using the 1480 (scsi 2) instead of
the
        1460 ?
