Hi Bill,
First of all, thanks for your input.

If IBM doesn't make their own memory, then how can their memory be
any better than the other out there as they claim?

Oh okay, but it seems like Kingston wasn't well known until the
last few years. It seems before, the only good memory were from Micron,
Motorola, OKI, NEC, SIEMENS, TI, Samsung and the best thing was like
Toshiba. The funny thing is my TP385ED actually has IBM memory on the
motherboard.

Does Apricorn make their own memory or do they just buy the chips

Hmmm, I thought the DIMM sockets were all standard. Ofcourse, I
did notice that one socket was made by Molex and one isn't.

How much does GoldenRam charge for memory? And I guess they buy
the chips from others too and put together memory sort of like how PNY
does it? Not sure how Viking does it since I only heard about them but
never seen it before.

I guess Micron quality must have gone down or something. I always
thought they manufactured their own memory since they were the ones who
invented SyncBurst or Pipeline Burst Caching as we would call it for
Pentium and higher machines.

I never had experience of bad memory before so I don't know how
they usually do the exchange for a warranty claim. I just thought that
with IBM, they will ship you everything that a user can change as long as
it's approved for the machine. Speaking about IBM, I did get the Enhanced
DVD Video adapter option and for some reason, there are still lots of
artifacts for DVD's and then does anyone know what each port is used for
since the manuals doesn't seem to say anything about them or where I can
get the cables for video and audio.

Oh okay, thanks for sharing your experience. Really appreciate
it. Seems like something in the Preload of Windows98 on the 770Z really
drains resources fast.
