I'm cool with my Sony's 10.4" display at SVGA, but from what I've read
on comp.sys.laptops and here, I'm in the minority. To me, it's more the
data display than the display size, and I personally would prefer displays
run like this:
10.4" - 800x600
11.3" and 12.1" - 1024x768
13.3 and up - 1280x 1020 (or whatever SXGA is)
IMO, this provides the sharpest image with the available real estate. It
absolutely kills me how many people are raving about the 15" display on the
Dell i7k when it's only 1024x768 - that's like gloating over having a 10.4"
or 12.1" 640x480 screen!
