I can't imagine running around with 2 laptops. What a nightmare to keep
everything organized between your total of 3 machines!

If you're looking for a true satellite-type machine (meaning you only need
portability, as your "real" work is on a home-base kind of desktop
machine), then (to me at least) the choice should be clear: Get as small
and as light a machine that you can nevertheless still be comfortable with,
and still has the minimum features you will need.

In an ideal world, for me that would mean something really small--I saw a
Sony PCG-01 (I think that's the model) that I could just *die* for. It was
a meager 3 lbs. or less and had a 90% size keyboard, USB, Firewire, Modem,
and PC Card slot, along with a 1024x468 screen and a built-in camera for
video capture. *Really* cool and yet functional--4 GB HD, 233 (266?) MHz
Pentium. *That* to me is a fabulous little machine that doesn't compromise
very much at all. Win CE machines, on the other hand, have similar size,
but...well, they suck. I won't go into why.

But alas, my world is a bit more complicated. I do presentations of a
software product on my machine and basically require SVGA resolution and a
CD-ROM drive. If not for this simple fact, I would knock down to this tiny
minimalist machine from Sony and use it for all my travelling, hooking up
by Ethernet PC Card to my desktop machine to synch-up when I got home.
