Gentlemen...
OK, i took this 600E with the NT preload (which runs beautifully, BTW)
and loaded the win98 preload on it..
this preload was for an older version of the 600E, so to make it work
correctly i applied all the updates utilities and drivers..
all works FINE under win98 1st edition as supplied by IBM..
NOW, the trouble comes when i try to upgrade to win98 2nd edition...
it loads well, up to the point of the win98 setup window which sets up:
Control Panel
Programs on the Start Menu
Windows Help
MS-DOS program settings
Tuning up Application Start
System Configueration
the whole thing gets stuck on the "Programs on the Start Menu" item...
this has occured while trying to load win98 2nd edition fresh and over
the preload as described above..
anyone have any thoughts on this..?
