Thanks to all who contributed ideas to solve the
hibernation file problem.
I finally resolved the problem, using old fashioned
DOS skills. The PS2 commands, and the TP utility,
not to mention Setup, all failed to do the job.
All they would do was create a file about size 745K. This
is way too small for a unit with 64Mb RAM.
I used DOS to copy the (too small) file to a new
name (C:\copy PM_Hiber.bin pm.aaa).
Then DOS to Copy:\ pm.aaa + pm.aaa + pm.aaa {etc} PM_Hiber.bin.
Using enough copies to total over 64Mb, the old PM_Hiber.bin was
over written with a new 70MB PM_Hiber.bin.
Now, the 760CD hibernates just fine with 64MB RAM.
For some reason, the software just would NOT create a properly
sized hibernation file with 64MB RAM installed. With only 40 MB
RAM installed, it will create a properly sized hibernation file.
Happy trails.
