Well, i have a full version of win98 second edition..
tried loading it over the current win98 preload (on my 770Z and one
desktop) and no go..
it invites you to update to the newer version, then later tells you
thats a "no-no", "OK?"..
makes me want to dismember almost anyone handy, but i'll reserve that
emotion for the roast chicken tonight..! :-)
Sooo, i did a clean load on one of my drives on the 770Z and, while
still under construction, it does seem a bit cleaner and, maybe, a bit
faster loading up and running... possibly due to the clean load with
only windoze and few add on apps, like softDVD(yet) and RingCentral,
etc.
i have yet to try this on a 701, but i will, very soon...
i sold the really nice 600E-8AU so i can't play with that one until i
get another..
(BTW: those 600E's are terrific, only the speakers need work.. sounds
like a 760!)
