Randal is totally correct, that Landmark's Speed and Norton's Si are totally bogus.
So are most /all of the other synthetic benchmarks .
Note, that they do have a purpose as a diagnostic aid etc.
The most useful benchmark is whatever program(s) drives you nuts because it's just too slow.
It's often a combination of things that does it.
This of course means that this "benchmark" is only useful to one user.
It also means that if the computer isn't annoying, ie. it's fast enough ;
benchmarks are rather academic.
Currently, ZD's Winstone is considered the best all around System Benchmark .

I have Winstone 97 ,98 and 99 floating around here .
Also a bunch of swapable HD's and Win 95/98 available.
So, how do we decide upon the guinea pig ? ;-}
