never, NEVER send your machine away without REMOVING the HDD and memory..
the service center does not need it and you never know what'll happen...
a good friend did this and the fedex plane burned up on the runway.. his
machine and data were mixed in a molten puddle with asphalt, running
shoes, aluminum plane skin...

it took him months just to get a new thinkpad out of IBM...
