701C loses left audio channel after suspend

I find that when my 701C running Windows 95 OSR2.1 resumes after being
suspended, the left channel of audio is always silent, and no amout of
tinkering with the built-in mute and volume controls, nor the volume and
balance controls in Windows, will reactivate it. The right channel still
works fine, however, and the left returns if I restart the computer. Does
anyone else have this problem, and/or any ideas for fixing it?
