Don't know of a good source for cheaper LiON batteries
but I can tell you that the NiMH batteries will not
hold a charge for nearly as long... maybe 70% or
thereabouts. They also have memory problems, not
nearly as bad as Nicad but not nearly as good as LiON.
They will also generate more heat when being
used/charged.
