Well the 2.88 drive in my 755C doesn't 'sense' the hole, or the driver
doesn't object. My boot floppy for linux (that's another story) is a HD one
formatted to 2.88 by me under DOS so I can have a few DOS utils or other
files on it.

The 2.88meg floppies use "ED" diskettes..
the square hole is offset from the more ordinary "HD" floppy diskettes.. so
i doubt giving an argument to a format command in DOS will work..
a hole punch might work though.. :-)

was to start with, by default. As a lot of floppies are pre-formatted these
days, you might need to use the argument.

these drives format regular 1.44 disks to 2.88?
