TP600 -- new keyboard/bezel sounds hollow

I just had the keyboard and keyboard bezel replaced in my 266 MHz TP600
due to peeling paint and a bad Trackpoint. The minute I tried the
machine, it became obvious that there was now a hollow sound everytime I
typed a key. I bugged the serviceman about it, but he swears he put it
back exactly as the original. Anyone else have this experience, or have
any ideas? It is really quite annoying.
