I'm sure there are reasons to use CardWizard (i.e. hot unplugging, plugging,
hibernation, etc.) We bought a 570 here at the office and did exactly what
you want to do - bought the machine with 98 then installed NT. It has worked
great. FWIW, we are just using the native NT PC Card services without
difficulty. This is for a 3COM 10/100 NIC (not Cardbus).

NT support on the 570 has been very good, including the screwy WinModem.

Subject: 570 W98, adding NT4

Gentlefolk,

I'm waiting for a 570 to arrive with Win98, to which I will then want to add
WinNT4. We already have the licence for NT4 so we didn't purchase with NT
installed. IBM's site says for the 570 to use the Software Selection CD to
install CardWizard (whereas for a 600E you can download CardWizard).

Does the 570/W98 system come with this magic CD with the NT version of
CardWizard? Would the 600E version work? If not, got any bright ideas
please?

I've dual booted systems before, although not a 570. Any hints and tips?

Many thanks,
        martin
