Yes, Li-ION batteries work , the ones from the 760 E series work even better.
They are smaller, lighter and have more power.
The screen difference is obvious (grin), so I must not be understanding your question.
All 755CX's were P75's with a 50Mhz system board.
Since the darn things are sitting on a daughter card,
it's rather tempting to stick a Winchip 3D in there ;-]
If it has a modem port it has Mwave .
If it has Mwave, it's the 800*600 version, AFAIK.
