I've had some problems suspending my 701 (also Windows 95a) but
not recently. I use an IBM PCMCIA Home and Away card for
ethernet, and an IBM PCMCIA 33.6 modem for telecommunications.
Each works perfectly, but I can't use them at the same time
because the dongle of the Home and Away would need to be in the
same spot as the butterfly keyboard (if in the top PCMCIA slot)
or the dongle of the modem (if in the bottom PCMCIA slot).
Anyway, they work fine, and at the moment "Suspend" works fine,
too.

Have you tried reinstalling the Service Pack and all of the bug
fixes? There is a site (maybe more than one site, but not at
Microsoft!), which tells you which ones to do and in what order.

That's one reason I'm loathe to reinstall. It takes longer to
do the bug fixes than the operating system, because frequently
you have to reboot after each fix. There "ought to be" a batch
file that reboots for you ...

FWIW, I use DUN 1.3.
