I don't know of any Service Packs for OSR2,
but your comments did get me to thinking...
So I surfed over to the Microsoft site, and,
lo and behold, I found something called the
"Windows 95 OEM SR2 Update for Proper Plug
and Play Operation with Multifunction CardBus
Cards". How's that for a mouthful?
I don't even know what a "CardBus" card is
(did they change the name PCMCIA again?)
and the documentation didn't mention anything
about Suspend problems specifically, but I tried
it anyway and... it worked like a charm. Mr.
Stinky's insomnia is now a thing of the past!
If you've been running 95 for awhile, I urge
you to try a reinstall. Yes, it's royally tedious
(it took me two days to get everything back
up and running again) but it is worthwhile. The
bloatware has a weird way of building up over
time and it IS performance degrading. The
downside is that you will no longer have time
enough to get a coffee at each reboot :-)
