Thanks to those who responded.

The power to the entire house went out,
including the Dock II.

The TP rebooted to the desktop, then
froze tight, complaining about the Dock
as stated before.

Finally, being an ignorant but old hand at
Windose95 tomfoolery, I forced 'dose to let cntrl/alt/del
kill off the top dialogue box.

(They used to call us Hackers but that is a dirty
word nowadays.)

The underlying dialogue box then could
be read. It said to discharge and recharge
the battery. The battery was already at
0% but I discharged/recharged.

After sitting in a coma for a long time, it
suddenly decided to recharge and is
now at 100%.

I think this is the Li type battery.

I think I am going to call Georgia Power
and ask if my TP components are
covered against their negligence.
