I have recently installed the final version of Windows 2000 Professional on
my ThinkPad 600 (PII/233). Everything is smooth, but I was forced to use
the Beta version (1.12) of the ThinkPad Configuration Utilities with no
apparent adverse consequences.
The new version (1.13) of the ThinkPad Configuration Utilities has just
appeared on the TP support site under Windows 2000 support (not Windows 2000
Beta).
After removing the Beta (1.12) version, I have tried to install final (1.13)
version but I get a prompt to specify the path to the "Onscreen Display
Source files."
What does this mean and where are these files?
I tried groping around in the directory that the Installer runs from and all
over the TP Support Web Site with no luck. I *think* that this has something
to do with the new BIOS facility to show the volume level (and possibly
other stuff) but it is not documented anywhere that I have seen.
