I suspect the TP 600 is similar to the TP 570 with respect to
audio jacks. However I'm not familiar with the Labtec LVA-8450
headset. The instructions that came with my Andrea headset state
"SoundBlaster sound cards use the converter plug. Other sound cards
remove the converter plug. Some sound cards and laptops without
sufficient power (2.2 volts) in the microphone port will require
a APS-100."
The APS-100 is an external battery box that takes two AAA cells.
In other words, if the TP 600 microphone input is like that of
the TP 570, then (1) you do not need an external battery box,
and (2) if the Labtec is not SoundBlaster compatible, you probably
need the SoundBlaster converter plug (not the Thinkpad adapter).
I suppose the best advice is to check with Labtec re Soundblaster
compatibility. Good luck.
