I didn't completely read your original post. From reading your post again :)
and checking the IBM site it appears that the firmware upgrade is for
Win2K support.
If your not running Win2K and your drive is functioning
properly, I would suggest not upgrading.
Maybe someone else with Win2K will use it first and then we could
get some feedback if it affects the regions code.
